PARTNER for Symbian OS
The PARTNER for Symbian OS is a new debugging system for professionals who develop mobile phone based on Symbian OS. Developers can use KMC's flagship JTAG-ICE "PARTNER-Jet" without changing preferred editors and compilers.
The debugging of kernel, device drivers, and applications can be performed with the same operation without concerning execution mode. The PARTNER for Symbian OS also has a powerful profiling feature.
Features of PARTNER for Symbian OS
High-speed
Using our flagship high- speed JTAG-ICE "PARTNER-Jet", the PARTNER for Symbian OS provides a super fast debug environment for development projects on Symbian OS. Optional emulation memory allows downloading of kernel code in a flash, saving time to write to FLASH memory.
Profiler
The PARTNER for Symbian OS measures consumption time in each function and profiles performance of all system routines, device drivers, and applications without completed hardware settings. You can easily find bottleneck routines and improve them to gain speed for entire system. This profiling feature is built into the PARTNER debugger and you can profile your system by function or module basis even in debugging operation. This profiling feature will be applied to PARTNER debugger series for the other platforms such as embedded Linux.
Simultaneous debugging in each execution modes
You can debug kernel, device drivers, and applications simultaneously in each execution modes using PARTNER-Jet. The PARTNER automatically resolves execution addresses relocation assigned by rombuild and translates debugging information to appropriate debug action. For example, you can set a new break point in kernel code while you are stepping through an application and the kernel code will stop at specified break point.
View process and task information
You can see task information when the target system is stopped, allowing you easily to find dependencies among tasks and execution mode of tasks.
User interfaces
The PARTNER for Symbian OS has two user interfaces and you can choose your favorite way -- graphical user interface or command- line interface. You can use macros and history or whatever else for your command-line environment to improve efficiency of debugging.
